I have recently finished reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M.Persig and I have to say that it did not disappoint the hype that I found surrounded it. It has changed my way of thinking in everyday life and has helped me come to some clearer conclusions in life and work. I recommend it, though it can be quite dense, its worth the read.
“We’re in such a hurry most of the time we never get much chance to talk. The result is a kind of endless day-to-day shallowness, a monotony that leaves a person wondering years later where all the time went and sorry that it’s all gone. ”
“To live only for some future goal is shallow. It's the sides of the mountain that sustain life, not the top.”
“Peace of mind produces right values, right values produce right thoughts. Right thoughts produce right actions and right actions produce work which will be a material reflection for others to see of the serenity at the center of it all.”
